where is the soiree being held?
As of right now, we are not going to issue id cards, but that is a possiblitly for the future.
The Soire’e will be held at Mardi Gras World at 8:00pm Sat. Sept. 29th

If I become a $1500 Sponsor I will get 2 memberships in the Krewe and 2 riding spots for next years parade plus a table for 10 at this years first annual Expose Bash. So come next year will I have to provide my own throws and what other obligations would I have as a Krewe member, and will I have to join again to attend next years Expose Bash?
I have joined the Krewe and was wondering if a parade route has been determined yet? I would like to make hotel reservations close to the route for my family.
The exact route has not been decided yet, but what we are thinking is the traditional Uptown route. I don’t know how much of Canal Street will be involved, but St. Charles is a safe bet.

My wife and I joined as members last week. Will we receive a membership packet in the mail prior to the end of this month?
Dear Mike,
We will be sending out letters thanking everyone for joining, and giving you a “receipt” of sorts sometime before the end of the year.
With things moving as fast as they do these days, and with the Krewe Of Boo growing at such a fast pace…if we mailed you something snail mail, the info would have changed by the time it got to you!
We are toying with lots of different ideas for the future, but for right now most correspondence will be via the internet. Also, keeping our costs down is important to our staff and Board of Directors.

Yes, for $1500 you get two memberships for 2007. So, next week I will be mailing you 10 wristbands which get you and your guests entry into the Haunted House and Expose’ Bash, and you will have a reserved table for 10 waiting for you up front at the Expose’ Bash.

Next year, you and your other member will have to renew your dues for 2008, which as a Charter Members will be held at $350 when everyone else’s will have gone up. Then you buy your throws ( like all other parades) and you get to ride. We haven’t worked out the details yet for the parties, but if riders would like to go to the party after the parade they can choose to, or not..this is something that most likely will be in addition to your member’s dues…. Similar to Bacchus , Endymion and Orpheus. We will require that you buy some Krewe Throws, but not a lot.

You will not have to “join” again. You are a member now. Think of it like any other “club”..you join once and you’re in..then you keep current with your dues and you maintain your standing as “active” in good standing.
In future years when we have a waiting list, potential members will have to go before a committee and be voted on to become a member.
In some crews, you have to be a non-riding member first for years before you are allowed to ride.
That is why what is going on right now is so special, and you are lucky to have gotten in on the ground floor.

Yes, we will be expanding a lot of the functionality of our website as we grow. I love our site, but it will need an overhaul in the coming months to be able to handle merchandise, videos, music, streaming events…who knows?
I do see a “members” section in our future, though. It is something that has already been discussed.

I was just wondering if there is any parade this year in new orleans? My from Iowa is coming down and i wold love to show them a great time . THank you…
The first parade will be in 2008, but we are having a big costume party on Halloween night this year at Mardi Gras World. You can purchase tickets at the door, and find more info under “events” on this site.

Dear Pammy,
As in most clubs an organizations, there are annual dues which need to be kept current.
I will look into possibilites of breaking down payments, but I do not aniticipate being able to break payments down monthly, as it would just be too much to keep track of.
I will however work with any members in any way I can to make it as easy for you to pay as possible.
We do accept credit cards, so you could just put it on a credit card an pay them monthly if you wanted to.
As it stands right now, I would probably accept two payments for dues, but I’m not sure.

How about transportation to the Bash on Oct 31st. Are we on our own to get there and let’s say get back to the Quarter after the party ends. Or will there be a bus for members making runs from the Quarter to the party, and then back to the Quarter?

As we experienced at the soire if you did not get there early the food ran out and drink lines we very long and slow. So, as with other organizations, will members be allowed to bring their own refresments to the bash?
Hi Fred,
Well, all I can tell you is that we are a new and rapidly growing organization, and we learn from our mistakes. We are also a non profit 501c3 dedicated to helping our first responders. If we had a staff of 20 people, you may have had shorter lines, but our bottom line would be affected, and that’s not good for our cause. So, we are trying the best we know how. ‘ya know?
The Soire’e was a free party, whereas the Expose’ is for a fee. Please keep in mind, that this is all for charity ( unlike other organizations) so the normal rules just simply can’t be applied to us. We weren’t trying to feed everyone at the Soire’, just to give you something nice to nibble on.
Kajun Kettle Foods will have both Crawfish Monica and Gumbo for sale, and there will be plenty.
Drinks will not be allowed in, as proceeds from drink sales will benefit our cause.
I look forward to seeing you all on both Saturday at the costume contest, and next Wednesday at the Expose’ Bash!

When you get a chance please advise about the transportation question I wrote on 10/24/07 (above).
I would also like to know if there will be any Krewe of Boo merchandise for sale at the BASH on Oct 31st, or will the merchandise line roll out over the next year?
